GeoMapApp©: UNIX/Linux Installation

Minimum Requirements:

NOTE: The default GNU Java compiler installed on some Linux platforms does not include all the libraries needed by GeoMapApp. Install as above.

  • 20 MB of free disk space.
  • 512 MB of RAM (1024 MB or more is recommended for best performance).
  • Network connection to access data on remote servers.

% cd <directory with GeoMapApp.jar>
% java -Xmx512m -jar GeoMapApp.jar


Debian GNU/Linux Requirements

Please note, with Debian GNU/Linux 5.0 there is a Java Bug which prevents the GeoMapApp application from launching and starting. As a work around to start the program, type the following in a command window:

% cd <directory with GeoMapApp.jar>
% java -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Xmx512m -jar GeoMapApp.jar
