Available Data
Select Available Data to access an extensive variety of data through the Custom Data Viewer and General Data Viewer interfaces. Data pertinent to the NSF Focus Sites is grouped for convenience.
Open Searchable List and Select Data From Menu both lead to the same data.
The user may choose the more convenient interface style.
The Search panel: enter any word and all dataset names containing that word will be highlighted.
You may go directly to a highlighted dataset.
Or you may choose among Custom Data Viewers (special interfaces designed to maximize the usefulness of specific datasets, see below), General Data Viewers (for viewing tables, grids and shapefiles) and NSF Focus Sites (see data in Ridge 2000 and MARGINS study areas).
Press OK to select dataset.

Custom Data Viewers are interfaces designed to maximize the usefulness of the dataset you are browsing. Click the links for information on viewing each data type.

General Data Viewers
Datasets are listed in an extensive file tree in the Available Data window. Double-clicking any folder icon opens the folder and displays its contents. This view from April, 2007 contains over 50 datasets grouped under the general headings of Tables and Layers, depending on the structure of the data (determines the display options available in GeoMapApp). Data in the National Science Foundation's MARGINS and Ridge 2000 program areas of intensive scientific study are grouped under NSF Focus Sites.
General Data Viewers - Tables
For help loading and displaying any of the datasets below, see Import Data Table Help.
The Tables list contains about 45 datasets that are ready for viewing in GeoMapApp. Double-clicking any folder icon opens the folder and displays its contents. You may enter any search term. As of April, 2007.
General Data Viewers - Layers
The Layers list contains about 20 shapefile and grid datasets that are ready for viewing in GeoMapApp. Double-clicking any folder icon opens the folder and displays its contents. As of August, 2007.

NSF Focus Sites
Data from the MARGINS and Ridge 2000 programs is listed under the NSF Focus Sites heading. There are over 60 entries as of April, 2007. More data is added as it is received.
